Kirstine McKay

The host for the BWN International Women’s Day Luncheon will be international award winning journalist Kirstine McKay. Kirstine has over 12 years experience as a television reporter and producer for Channel Nine, working on the Sunday Program and A Current Affair. She writes, presents and acts for individuals and organisations across many disciplines, and with her husband raises chickens, veggies and 3 young boys. Kirstine is passionate about our natural environment and leads a sustainable lifestyle that lives lightly on the planet here in the beautiful Southern Highlands. In celebration of International Women’s Day and this year’s theme “Press for Progress”, Kirstine will be conducting live interviews with 3 inspirational women, sharing their stories and asking for advice on how we can all play a positive role in forging a more gender inclusive working world.

Ms Lucinda Bensoussan

Lucinda left school during her teens and moved to France when she was 17. She went on to dance professionally in Europe and Asia. Angus and Lucinda moved back to Mittagong 6 years ago and have worked hard to build the Academie de Danse’s reputation with lessons offered six days a week. Lucinda credits her drive & motivation as the key to her success. Lucinda is professionally trained and experienced in Classical Ballet, RAD, Contemporary, Neo-Classical, Modern, Moldovan, Character, Body conditioning, and Pas de Deux. She is a fully qualified professional teacher who has performed throughout Europe in numerous Professional Classical, Modern and Contemporary productions In Monaco, Italy, Denmark & Germany and has worked with many world famous European chorographers.

Dr Karen L Guymer

Karen has worked as an Environment Officer for over five years at Wingecarribee Shire Council delivering private land biodiversity conservation projects. Karen has also recently taken on the role of Bushcare coordination, which is about supporting hard-working volunteers caring for our local bushland reserves. The Habitat for Wildlife, Land for Wildlife, Vegetation Conservation and Rural Partner initiatives are popular programs being delivered to our community. Last year Karen presented her work at the Private Land Conservation Conference in Hobart. Karen has brought her expertise in natural resource management (NRM) to several NRM advisory committees for state government programs. Karen has also worked for the NSW State Government as a catchment manager and catchment officer for six years, delivering a range of frontline NRM programs and projects. Early in her career Karen worked with NSW Agriculture in Orange delivering an education and awareness program about improving water use efficiency on irrigated agricultural enterprises, WaterWise on the Farm. Karen has a first-class Honours degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Science from The University of Sydney, and a graduate certificate in public sector management. In her spare time Karen is busy raising two boys and was a Primary Ethics teacher for over two years at the local primary school.

Jan Stevens-King

Jan, together with husband Paul, has worked tirelessly for The Clown Doctors for over 20 years. April 1st 2018 is National Clown Day and their 21st Birthday. Over $1,000.000 has been raised solely by them for this wonderful organisation and the Business Women’s Network is proud to feature Jan as a wonderful role model.
