The good, the bad and the ugly….small business learnings from 12 months of Southern Highlands business mentoring with Andrew Wales from the Business Connect Program

Andrew Wales is an entrepreneur and business professional with 22 years  experience in both private and public sector organisations – in Australia, Asia and the United States. Andrew’s successfully founded and built organisations from the ground up, and worked within and for government agencies, mining and industrial companies, consultancies, IT companies, agriculture enterprises and environmental reporting firms.

Andrew has been based on the NSW south coast for over 15 years, where he currently operates his own management consulting and startup incubator firm and serves as a Business Advisor under the Business Connect Program to SMEs across the NSW south coast and Southern Highlands. Also during his time on the south coast, Andrew has been the founder of two major Australian enterprises – Australia’s Oyster Coast, and Planet Footprint – both of which have grown to become leading employers in their respective industries.

Andrew was recently awarded the contract to act as the Australian Government’s Employment Facilitator for the Far South Coast, working closely with employers, job active providers and government agencies to identify and deploy projects that address regional unemployment.
